After a decade, I'm finally launching a blog on my website. Can't wait to get started.

Latest blog: Thoughts About Money

Let's face it, ladies and gentlemen, the thing about money is you pretty much never have enough. Titans of industry like Andrew Carnegie and Mr. Rockefeller got close, and Mansa Musa had a pretty good go, but even those titans of industry went to the grave wishing for two more damn red cents. Something to think about. I suppose it's like the old man said "tell me quick, ain't that a kick in the head?". Looking forward to sharing more thoughts on this, and other, topics in the coming decades. Yours, Webmaster (Ross F)

Latest blog: Cars

Everyone you speak to these days tells you that car sales are in the toilet. It's all I hear. "People don't buy cars anymore". The average family used to have 3.1 cars, now they have somewhere between 2.5 and 2.9 cars. How do you account for that? Reduced purchasing power? The collapse of the middle class? Conscientiousness about carbon footprints? I think not. The real answer is much simpler: they don't make cars people like anymore. The old Reliant Robin, the Ford Fighter, Alpha Romeo 612638, etc. They were beautiful, exciting cars... When a new car hit the showroom, the people were lining up in their millions to browse and, yes, to buy. People used to "play hooky" from their jobs (or schools) just to go LOOK at the latest designs from major manufacturers like Rolls Royce and whatnot. To paraphrase Wordsworth, "bliss was it in that dawn to be alive, but to drive an MG Rover was very heaven". And it was. The cars were really grand, but for some reason they chose to phase them out. Was it fear of success? Was it our old friend 'Thanatos'? Maybe it's as simple as a global conspiracy designed to diminish the collective human spirit by sweeping all the beautiful things from the world. I can't answer that. All I can say is, I hope they make nice cars again. Yours, Webmaster (Ross F)
